Every school year, each year group across school elects a rep to our School Council, except Year 5 & 6 which have two or three reps. Children who are keen to become a School Council member make a short presentation before the vote. Democracy in action!

What does the School Council do?
The School Council prides itself in organising and running various fundraising events throughout the year, from Comic Relief and Children in Need, to Toilet Twinning and local charities such as Brathay Trust and Manna House.
As well as supporting very worthy charities, organising and running these events is a fantastic opportunity for the children to take responsibility and develop their organisational, communication and leadership skills. They always seem to relish the opportunity and take great care and pride in what they do. For the younger children who are involved, they aspire and look forward to becoming the older school council members in the years to come and to taking their turn as leaders./i/video/Children_in_Need_2021.mp4
