Important: the closing date for applications to start secondary school in September is 31st October the year before.

Every parent of a child resident in Cumbria needs to make an application by this date, even if the preference is for a place at a school outside Cumbria.

Parents will be notified by the local authority of their school allocation on 1st March in the year they are due to start.
