English at Leven Valley School|
The English Curriculum (Reading, Writing and Spoken Language) is given a high priority throughout school as these skills are essential across all other areas of the curriculum as well as being key life skills.
English is directly taught for at least one hour each day in all classes and also within other curricular areas, where these skills are developed, practised and put to use in meaningful ways.
Click on the links in the menu to find out more about how we go about teaching the different aspects of English and also how you as parents can help your child.
This is the new Primary National Curriculum for English (published September 2013) and became statutory from September 2014.
